Princess to a Queen – Emily Grace |Be Fearce Friday #BlackGirlMagic

This Be Fearce Friday, I’m going to be featuring the MOST ADORABLE little girl that I came across in a Facebook group about Natural Hair.  As soon as I saw her I immediately knew she was a mini FEARCE lady!  You could see the confidence exuding from her.  I really do think it’s important to let children know from a young age that they can conquer the world.  They are amazing, beautiful, and fearless from birth…don’t let them lose it!

So, I reached out to her mother, Nia, and asked her some questions about this lovely princess, Emily Grace!

How would you describe her personality and confidence?

She is very outgoing, helpful, smart and lady like. She says she is a Princess practicing to be a Queen.

What do you do to make sure she’s the confident, fearless, and amazing little person that she is?

Every morning we say our affirmations. She looks in the mirror and says,

“I am smart, I am kind, I am beautiful, I am important, I matter and I am loved. I will go to school and treat everyone kindly and with respect, I will focus and follow directions. I will continue to do my best and be the best Emily I can be.”

We do this every morning before she leaves to face the outside world.

What advice would you give to others about motivating their daughters?

My advice I would give parents not just to their daughters but sons as well, is to lead by example. Build them up before you send them out to this hard world, and recharge them when you get them back. Always tell them something wonderful and positive about themselves even when you have to discipline them.

Nia told me that Emily LOVES to get dressed up for special occasions and as you can see she is so full of confidence and is the most adorable little girl.  She knows her worth and you can’t deny it!  Emily is going for the PRINCESS title at her school ball today!  Send her some good vibes! She has to win, right!!!

Isn’t this giving you a little Brandy as Cinderella feeling?  These are the reasons that seeing representation of us in the media are so important!

  1. Thank you for featuring my niece. Emily is the sweetest and most caring person ever. I was speaking to a student about self esteem and Emily chimed in saying, “You have such a pretty complexion and smile.”

    • She seems like such an amazing young lady. I just felt it as soon as I saw her picture. I’m happy to be able to showcase her! She makes my heart smile.

  2. Emily is so deserving of this, she is an amazing and wonderful little girl. She is very proper and has wonderful etiquette about herself. Her spirit is amazing, and the middle name Grace is so fitting for her. Whenever I see her my heart just smiles.
